Ail Ger (Building the Home)
Also known as Айл гэр (Ail Ger), The Family Ger
A quiet imaginative game where children arrange found stones into a miniature nomadic camp with yurts, furniture, and herds.
How to play
Each child collects a handful of small stones of different shapes and colours from the ground.
Players place stones in a circle to represent the walls of a ger (yurt).
Larger flat stones inside represent furniture; smaller stones outside represent livestock (horses, sheep, camels, sorted by colour or shape).
Players act out the daily life of a nomadic family using their stone camp.
Multiple children can build neighbouring camps and trade stones between them.
There is no winner, it is a cooperative storytelling game.
Keep it fair
If two kids want the same stone, the rule is simple: whoever found it first keeps it. Encourage trading rather than taking.
