The rules

How to play

1

Each child collects a handful of small stones of different shapes and colours from the ground.

2

Players place stones in a circle to represent the walls of a ger (yurt).

3

Larger flat stones inside represent furniture; smaller stones outside represent livestock (horses, sheep, camels, sorted by colour or shape).

4

Players act out the daily life of a nomadic family using their stone camp.

5

Multiple children can build neighbouring camps and trade stones between them.

6

There is no winner, it is a cooperative storytelling game.

Keep it fair

If two kids want the same stone, the rule is simple: whoever found it first keeps it. Encourage trading rather than taking.
