Short version: we don't want your data.
Effective 15 July 2026
The Games Handbook is made by Taylorvision (Mark Taylor), New Zealand. It's a handbook of children's games. It works without an account, without tracking, and without collecting personal information. This page explains exactly what is and isn't stored, in plain language.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you do in the app stays on your device: your favorite games, games you've marked as played, your play log (which game, how many minutes), any first names you type into "Who's playing?", and the state of the play timer. None of it is sent to us or anyone else. We have no servers holding your data and no way to see it. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
No accounts, no tracking
There is no sign-up and no login. The app contains no advertising, no analytics trackers and no social media SDKs. We don't collect your location, contacts, photos or anything else from your phone.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your name, card details or billing address. To check whether your unlock is active (and to restore it on a new phone), the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-validation service, which processes your purchase receipt under an anonymous identifier. That identifier is random and is not linked to your name, email or identity.
Children
The app is designed for parents, grandparents, teachers and caregivers, not for children to use themselves. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included. Names typed into the play timer never leave the device, so a child's name entered by a parent stays private to that phone.
The website
www.thegameshandbook.com is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no tracking of any kind.
Changes
If the app ever changes in a way that affects privacy (for example, if we add optional accounts one day), this policy will be updated first and the date at the top will change.
