How to play

1

All players sit in a tight circle and place both hands flat on the ground, fingers spread.

2

One player is the leader and keeps only one hand down.

3

The leader taps each finger (one tap per beat) around the circle while the whole group chants 'Akkad bakkad bambay bo, assi nabbey poorey sau, sau mein laga dhaaga, chor nikal ke bhaaga!' The finger that gets tapped on 'bhaaga' (or 'be-sha-ram' in the extended version) is folded away and that player is out.

4

Continue until one player has all five fingers still open, that player wins.

Keep it fair

The leader must tap at a steady, even pace, no speeding up to confuse players. Agree that the leader keeps the rhythm consistent or another player takes over.
