How to play

1

One player is Berek (it).

2

They chase all others and try to tag (touch) anyone, who then becomes the new Berek.

3

The most popular variant is Drewniany Berek (Wooden Berek): a player is safe from being tagged as long as they are touching something made of wood.

4

In Kucany Berek (Squat Berek), players are safe as long as they are crouching.

5

Only one safe position is allowed at a time; you cannot hold the safe position indefinitely.

Keep it fair

Before starting, agree which Berek variant is being played and what the safe trigger is, mixing rules mid-game is the main cause of arguments.
