Daria Bandha
Also known as Gadikhela, Lines and Guards
A grid-based game where one team tries to cross all the lines while the defending team guards them.
How to play
Scratch a large rectangle in the dirt divided by 3-4 horizontal lines and 1 vertical line, creating a grid of cells.
One team are the 'guards' who defend each line (one guard per line, standing on it and moving only left-right along their line).
The other team are the 'runners' who must cross from the first line to the far end and back without being touched.
A runner touched by a guard is out.
If all runners get across and back, the running team scores a point and swaps roles.
The team with the most points after a set number of rounds wins.
Keep it fair
Guards must keep at least one foot on their line at all times, if they chase a runner off their line, that tag does not count. Make this rule explicit before starting.
