The rules

How to play

1

One player (It) faces a wall or tree and chants 'Daruma-san ga koronda!' (10 syllables, like counting to 10).

2

While chanting, other players sneak forward from the starting line.

3

The moment It finishes chanting, they spin around.

4

Any player seen still moving is out or must go back to the start.

5

Players who reach and touch It call 'Kitta!' (Cut!), grab hands to form a chain, and all run.

6

It tries to tag someone before they scatter beyond a set line.

Keep it fair

It must turn and judge in one smooth spin, no slow peeking. If there is a dispute about whether someone moved, the group votes. Three votes beats one.
