The rules

How to play

1

Two teams of equal size stand facing each other about 5 metres apart.

2

One team holds a stick (any twig or branch).

3

A player from that team calls out: 'Dox-en-Eye, Dox-en-Eye, we want [name] to come!' The named player from the opposing team must walk forward, pick up the stick, and walk backward to their team, all without smiling.

4

The calling team uses funny faces, sounds, and words, but no touching, to make the walker crack.

5

If the walker smiles, they join the calling team.

6

If they stay straight-faced, they keep their team.

7

The team that collects everyone wins.

Keep it fair

No touching the walker at all, this is the firm line. Funny faces and voices only.
