How to play

1

One player is the seeker and stands at a fixed home base, covers their eyes, and counts aloud to forty.

2

Everyone else hides.

3

The seeker then searches; when they spot a hider they shout 'Forty forty, I see [name]!' and both race to home base.

4

If the seeker taps the base first, the hider is caught.

5

Any hider who reaches home base untouched shouts 'Forty forty home free!' All caught players wait until the round ends.

6

The first player caught is seeker next round.

Keep it fair

Disputes happen when the seeker calls a name but the hider claims they weren't seen. Agree that the seeker must state the hiding spot too ('Forty forty, I see Jake, behind the tree'), vague calls don't count.
