The rules
How to play
1
One or two seekers count at home base while everyone hides.
2
Seekers hunt; a spotted hider is named aloud and must wait at base.
3
Free hiders win by sneaking back to touch base shouting 'Home free!', which also frees anyone waiting there.
4
The round ends when everyone is caught or home, and the first player caught seeks next.
Keep it fair
Rules vary school to school in NZ, agree your version before counting, especially how close to base hiders may lurk. Three fence-posts away is a classic rule.
