Kabaddi
Also known as Kabbadi, Ha-Do-Do, Ha-Du-Du (Bangladesh), Hu-Tu-Tu
A raider holds one breath, dashes into enemy territory to tag defenders, and must return safely, all while chanting 'kabaddi' non-stop.
How to play
Split into two equal teams (5, 7 per side) and mark a centre line dividing the court in two.
Teams take turns sending one raider across the line.
The raider must chant 'kabaddi kabaddi' continuously on a single breath the whole time they are on the other side.
The raider tries to tag one or more defenders and sprint back across the centre line before running out of breath or being wrestled down.
Tagged defenders sit out; if the raider is held until they break the chant or run out of breath, the raider is out.
Eliminated players return one at a time whenever their team scores.
Team with the most points when all players have raided wins.
Keep it fair
Appoint a neutral referee or use a simple rule: if the raider's mouth stops forming 'kabaddi' sounds, even for a second, they are out, no argument needed.
