The rules

How to play

1

Mark a centre line.

2

One raider from Team A crosses while continuously saying 'kabaddi kabaddi' (out loud, no stopping).

3

They try to touch any defender and sprint back across the centre line still chanting.

4

Defenders dodge but cannot grab or tackle, they can only form a human wall or step in the raider's path.

5

If the raider crosses back while still chanting, the touched defender is out.

6

If the raider stops chanting or crosses back without a tag, nothing happens.

7

Swap teams after each player has raided once.

8

Team with most touches wins.

Keep it fair

No grabbing rule is the most argued point with young children. Pre-agree: defenders may only spread arms as a wall, any grip or pull means the raider is safe and earns a free point.
