How to play

1

Two players secretly choose to be either 'oranges' or 'lemons' and hold hands forming an arch.

2

All other players form a line and file under the arch while everyone sings 'Oranges and Lemons'.

3

The singing speeds up on the final lines ('Here comes a chopper to chop off your head, chop chop chop chop the last man's dead!') and the arch drops to catch whoever is passing through.

4

That player must whisper whether they are an orange or a lemon and stand behind the corresponding arch player.

5

Repeat until all players are assigned.

6

End with a tug-of-war between the two groups.

Keep it fair

The arch players must not peek when a player whispers their choice, keep the secret side selection private until the final tug-of-war to maintain fairness.
