Run Run the Guaraca
Also known as Corre Corre la Guaraca
A handkerchief is secretly dropped behind a seated player; they must catch the dropper before they complete the circle.
How to play
Children sit in a circle facing inward.
One child walks outside holding a handkerchief while the group chants '¡Corre corre la guaraca, el que mire para atrás se le pega en la patuca!' The walker silently drops the cloth behind a seated player and runs.
If that player notices before the walker completes the circle, they jump up and chase.
If caught, the walker sits in the center; if the walker reaches the empty spot first, the seated child becomes the new walker.
Keep it fair
Seated players must keep eyes forward, if they keep peeking, rotate the walker's direction each round so no one knows which side to watch.
