How to play

1

All players except one or two are 'lions', they lie on the floor, eyes closed, as still as possible.

2

The remaining players are hunters.

3

Hunters move around the lions, saying funny things, pulling faces, making noises, anything short of touching them, to make the lions move.

4

Any lion who moves, laughs, or opens their eyes stands up and joins the hunters.

5

The last lion lying down wins.

6

In school settings, the teacher acts as the hunter with no intention of waking the lions, it is purely a calm-down exercise.

Keep it fair

Set a firm no-touching rule before the game, hunters who touch a lion to force a reaction are immediately disqualified from being hunters.
