White Poplar Blue Poplar
Also known as Oq Terakmi Ko'k Terak
Uzbek version of Red Rover, two teams call a named child to try to break through their chain of linked hands.
How to play
Two teams of equal size form lines about 10 metres apart, each player gripping the hands of the next.
Team One chants 'Oq terakmi, ko'k terak, bizdan sizga kim kerak?' (White poplar or blue poplar, who from us do you need?).
Team Two names a player from Team One, who then sprints and tries to break the handgrip between any two Team Two players.
If they break through, they return to their own team with a captured player.
If they fail, they join Team Two.
Teams alternate calls.
The team with the most players wins.
Keep it fair
The runner must commit to one gap and charge it, no switching targets halfway. Teams should set a 'no wrist-grabbing' rule; hands only, to prevent wrist injuries during breaks.
