The rules

How to play

1

One child (the Ox) stands facing a wall or tree at one end.

2

All other players start at least 20 metres away.

3

The Ox calls out 'Eins, zwei, drei, vier...

4

Ochs am Berg!' at any speed then spins around sharply.

5

While counting, players sprint toward the Ox.

6

At 'Berg' everyone must freeze; anyone seen moving is sent back to the start.

7

The first player to reach and touch the Ox becomes the new Ox.

Keep it fair

The Ox should pause one full second after turning before pointing out movers, snap judgements cause the most arguments.
