The rules

How to play

1

Draw a circle on the ground.

2

Three or more players step inside and stand back-to-back with arms folded.

3

On the signal, everyone pushes using only their back and hips, no arms, elbows, or hands.

4

The group chants 'Oshikura manju, osarete nakuna!' (Push the steamed bun, don't cry when pushed!) Players pushed out of the circle are eliminated.

5

Keep pushing until one player remains.

6

Traditionally played in winter to stay warm.

Keep it fair

Hands and arms must stay folded the whole time. Anyone who uses arms is immediately out, this prevents grabs and shoving arguments.
