The rules
How to play

Played after dark.

The player who is It holds the torch and counts at base while everyone hides.

It hunts with the torch; catching a hider in the beam and naming them sends them to base.

Hiders win by sneaking back to touch base in the dark shouting 'Spotlight!', which frees everyone caught.

The last player caught is It next round.
Keep it fair
The beam plus the right name makes a catch, and set a torch rule up front: no shining it in eyes at close range.
