The rules

How to play

1

One child is chosen as the Eagle and sits or crouches on a designated rock or base.

2

All other children are Pigeons and stand on their own safe area.

3

The Pigeons venture out from safety and mime pecking the ground for food.

4

When the Eagle chooses, it leaps off the rock and chases the Pigeons.

5

Any Pigeon tagged is out and sits down.

6

Pigeons who make it back to their safe area are safe.

7

Play continues until the last Pigeon is out, then a new Eagle is chosen.

Keep it fair

Mark the Eagle's base and the Pigeon's safe area with stones or drawn lines before starting, disputes about 'I was back on base' are the main source of arguments.
